Detailed itinerary:

Day 1 - Welcome and Orientation

Upon arrival, we are welcomed and guided to our room. Settle in by relaxing for the evening in our room or unwind by the game room, outdoor heated pool and hot tub. Meet others as they arrive throughout the evening. Our menu and excursion itinerary will be discussed with the host.

Day 2 - Equator – Play Tennis, Intiñan Solar Museum and Quito

In the morning we walk onto the clay courts at the LB Tennis Club in Lumbisi for the first time and see how it is to hit a tennis ball at 8,000 feet.  We enjoy 2 hours of hitting and then afterwards head back to MVI for Lunch and change clothes.

We then travel to stand with a foot on each hemisphere on the Equator and tour the always fun, interactive Equatorial Intiñan Solar Museum.  We will learn of the indigenous culture and understand the effects of the gravitational forces with water and balancing an egg on a nail!

We'll continue to tour Quito, which brings the past to life in its museums, convents, carved stone facades and golden altars of its many churches. We will eat at a local restaurant that serves authentic Ecuadorian cuisine and enjoying the Quito evening.

Day 3 - Amazon Whitewater Rafting and Watch Live Ecuador Quito Open

We will take a beautiful drive 2.5 hours away to the Amazon. It has become famous with kayaking and rafting fans. The gorgeous Level III Rivers are perfect to practice these sports. The Quijos or Chaco River offers an excellent 3-4 hour rafting excursion with many challenging rapids. During the tour we will have hamburgers that will hit the spot. We will continue to experience this rafting tour in the beautiful tropical rainforest with a rich flora and fauna.

If you choose not to raft, no problem! You will be able to go on a beautiful 2-3 hour hike walking through the jungle, river, spectacular cave and a breathtaking powerful waterfall.  Plan on getting wet and experiencing the beauty of nature, up close.

A highlight for many will also be the delicious dinner of Tilapia or Pork chops waiting for us at Los Tayos Restaurant. We then commute back to watch live the Ecuador Quito Open.

Day 4 - Mindo Rain Forest – Zipline, Hike and Swim

This morning we depart a little earlier, to commute on a gorgeous 2.5 hour ride to the Mindo Rain Forest.  It is set on 47,444 acres of the nationally protected reserve, Bosque Protector Mindo-Nambillo.  Mindo, one of the world's headquarters for rainforest preservation, is abundant with over 350 species of birds. It is an ideal place to snap photos, swim in lagoons and hike.

Enjoy a quick fruit snack before experiencing an amazing thrill ride, on 10 zip lines, 2000 meters in length that zip along at 100 meters above ground.

At the end of the zipline experience a box lunch will be waiting for us in the picnic area.

We then travel to the Tarabita Skyway Basket over the Mindo River Valley. We will travel in a suspended metal cage powered by an old engine car that will provide spectacular views.

We will enjoy a great hike through the Rain Forest and time permitting, visit one or more cascading waterfalls and possibly jump in for a swim in the Nambillo Lagoon.

We will enjoy a great dinner at Quetzal Restaurant and eat arguably the most delicious brownie…Ever!

Day 5 - Quito - Play Tennis, Teleferico (Horseback Optional) and Watch Live Ecuador Quito Open

At 9:30 am we walk onto the clay courts at the LB Tennis Club and play for 2 hours. Afterwards we head back to MVI for Lunch and change clothes.

After lunch we will travel 1 hour to Quito at 9,500 feet where our adventure begins by taking a tram ride that takes us to 14,100 feet. At the top we'll walk and see volcanoes on the left and a panoramic view of the city of Quito on the right. This is a great place for pictures and hiking. We can choose to ride a horse; this is an optional activity that can be done pending availability. On a clear day you can observe the surrounding volcanoes: Antisana (18,700 ft), Cayambe (18,725 ft), and Cotopaxi (19,347 ft).

We go back down the cable ferry and after dinner we go and watch live the Ecuador Quito Open.

Day 6 - Tumbaco - Play Tennis, Chiche Canyon and Watch Live Ecuador Quito Open

At 9:30 am we walk onto the clay courts at the LB Tennis Club and play for 2 hours. Afterwards we head back to MVI for lunch and change clothes.

We then visit the Chiche Canyon that can best be described as a mini version of the Grand Canyon. It stretches as far as the eye can see. It has a beautiful flowing river at the base of the canyon and marked trails easy to follow. Enjoy a nature walk on the trails for 1 hour.

After the walk we go and watch live the Ecuador Quito Open.

Day 7 - Papallacta – Play Tennis, Hot Thermal Springs and Watch Live Ecuador Quito Open

After breakfast we will test our skills on the court again for one last time and begin play at 9:30 am.  After 2 hours of play we return back to MVI to change clothes and eat lunch.

We then travel 1.5 hours to the entrance of the Amazon Jungle. Bathe in the natural thermal spring pools of different sizes and temperatures in Papallacta. This soothing volcanic natural thermal spring water contains sulfites and heat that produce a very therapeutic feeling of rejuvenation and wellness.

We return to watch live the Ecuador Quito Open.

Day 8 - Departure

Unfortunately the trip comes to an end but leaving us with wonderful photos and memories.  MVI transportation will take us to our flight 3 hours before our scheduled departure. We look forward to having you, your family and your friends return.
